Toddler TrampolinesTrampolines and the Special Needs Child
Trampolines can be used in therapy for disabled children in what's known as Rebound Therapy. Rebound therapy aids balance and leg strength through jumping on a trampoline. While the use of a trampoline can be extremely beneficial to a child with special needs, great care needs to be taken in regards to the childs safety. An adult must always be alert and present when a child is using the trampoline.
Here are some of the rebounding benefits:
•Improves blood circulation and oxygen flow •Increases the capacity of heart and lungs •Lowers overall cholesterol levels - increases HDL (good cholesterol) and decreases LDL (bad cholesterol). •Improves balance and co-ordination •Increases metabolism which assists the body in burning more calories •Reduces stress and tension •Improves muscle tones •Enhances digestion, relaxation, sleep patterns, nerve impulses and muscle fiber •Boost energy and vitality •Reduces blood pressure •Strengthen the lymphatic and immune system •Rebounding places no strain on the joints of your body
